Waldy and I finally took a last minute decision to bicycle up the Red Rock Hwg in Waterton Park as far as were allowed to Coppermine Creek, about 6.5km. We saw the devastation of last year’s wildfire. We were amazed at how much growth has come back to the forest floor and meadows in such a short time. I was also amazed at how black the trees are, some hallowed right out. Some of the ground was so scorched that new growth has not come up.Crandell Campground is totally gone but some of the buildings were saved. It got to be a very windy day so riding in was hard, but coming back with the wind at our backs was lots of fun. Have a seat, there are quite a few photos.
