On June 17th I flew to Toronto where I was met by Tom, Karley and Liv. We went out for dinner then they had to drive back to Stratford. It was great seeing them, even tho it was a short visit.

I stayed overnite in Toronto, then took the bus to Belleville where my sister picked me up. We went directly to Mum’s nursing home to visit with her. She was not very responsive but when we visited the next time, it was morning and she was more awake and responsive. Even tho she didn’t know who we were, she did know she has 2 daughters and knows our names. I spent a few days with Viviane and Larry. We went for a hike in the dunes and went site-seeing in Prince Edward County where they live.

On June 21st, I took the train to Fallowfield (just south of Ottawa) where my Dad met me. We spent 2 days at his home visiting, then on the 23rd we boarded the train for Toronto, then Edmonton. Our train was already delayed and came into Toronto 3 hours late, giving us a total wait time of 6 hours. We finally got into our cabin and to bed by 1:45 am! For the next 2 days and 3 nites we travelled to Edmonton. The daytime scenery was very nice, the food was excellent, as was the company. We met a lot of nice people from several countries. The only negative was all the delays while we waited for the freight train traffic to go by – they have the right of way as the track belongs to them. Just a note about the bee hives: they place them in the fields to pollinate the plants and move them around, they do not collect honey from them. We stopped in Winnipeg for about an hour and left there on time but again we were delayed and didn’t arrive into Edmonton until 11:30 am – 5 hours late. Waldy was there patiently waiting for us for the 6 hour drive home.
