After 3 years of waiting since the Waterton wildfire, they finally opened the Akamina Parkway to Cameron Lake. I can see why it took them so long. They had to replace all the amco barriers and cut down lots of burned trees along the roadside. It was really devastating to see how much damage the fire did. They managed to save the area around Cameron Lake.

Yes, it is quite sad but all will come back some day with a little help from the park staff. The bears are gorgeous. Waldy’s beard seems to be getting whiter and longer.
